Chiropractic Care and Insurance Coverage

As we approach Open Enrollment season, that one time a year where changes can be made to one's insurance plan, Zephyr Sport and Spine wants to help you find cost-effective methods for paying for your chiropractic and recovery care.

Did you know that chiropractic care is HSA (health saving account), HRA (health reimbursement arrangement), and FSA (flexible spending account) eligible? These health accounts are a great way to set aside pre-tax money for eligible healthcare-related expenses. Now is a great time to speak with your company's HR representative or your insurance broker to discuss the best options for you and your family.

Why is Zephyr Sport and Spine out-of-network?

The decision to not work in-network with insurance companies was an easy decision for this office to make.

#1 It allows me, Dr. Jessica, to spend more time with my patients. I am not forced into a high-volume practice in order to make a reasonable income and that stems from the lower rate that insurance companies reimburse chiropractic physicians.

#2 My clinical experience and education have demonstrated that chiropractic care in combination with soft-tissue therapy and corrective exercise should be the gold standard for care and the best way to fend off pain in the long term.

Many insurance companies only cover spinal adjustments and do not cover modalities such as soft-tissue care and corrective exercise from a Chiropractor. This would increase the cost to the patient on top of their co-pay. In many cases, this would bring your payment to Zephyr Sport and Spine's continued care appointment fee.

#3 Lastly, but most importantly, my patient's results are my #1 priority. My business success relies on the referrals of my patients and not just because I am in-network with one's insurance company.

How can Zephyr Sport and Spine help reduce your costs?

Chiropractic care is HSA/FSA eligible. We encourage anyone with these accounts to use them for their chiropractic care.

Zephyr Sport and Spine can issue a superbill. A superbill is an itemized document detailing services provided to a patient. The patient can then submit this document to their insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement amounts can vary based on the insurance company and policy type. In many cases, the amount is put toward one's deductible. It would be best to check your explanation of benefits (EOB) for out-of-network reimbursements and eligibility.

COMING SOON!

Zephyr Sport and Spine has received a lot of interest in treatment session packages. These packages will reduce the individual session cost. Details will be released soon!

Chiropractic and recovery care packages will be HSA/FSA eligible. If you are an individual with an HSA/FSA account and will therefore forfeit any remaining money in the account at the end of the year. A package is a great way to use your healthcare account for Chiropractic care in the upcoming year.
